Berlin Colloquium for Internet and Society 2012
Within the trandisciplinary event “Berlin Colloquium for Internet and Society” early stage researchers came together in order to exchange thoughts and ideas in the fields of Internet and society, especially Patterns of Participation, Global Rules and Regulation, Transformation of the Public Sphere, Open Science, Network-Architecture and Political Communication. It took place from 25 until 26 October 2012 at the HomeBase Berlin in cooperation with Newthinking.
The Berlin Colloquium on Internet and Society was the first event in the context of the Doctoral Programme of the Alexander von Humboldt Institute for Internet and Society. The 2-day programme included workshops and paper presentations as well as a public Barcamp. While the first day of the event aimed to academic discussions in workshops and presentation sessions with the Directors of the Alexander von Humboldt Institute for Internet and Society, the second day provided the possibility to discuss topics in a Barcamp with a broader range of internet users and interested parties.
Thank you to all participants for some very inspiring days driven by the idea of innovative and interdisciplinary research within the field of Internet and society!
