Saturday, 4 November 2023 | 3.00 pm – 7.30 pm
Azalaï Hotel | Ave Abdel Nasser, Nouakchott, Mauritania
Join us for an afternoon of inspiration and networking, as we delve into the working world of a woman* in the tech sector in Mauritania!
During the interview, Fatimetou Mohamed-Saleck will share her personal journey, challenges, and triumphs as a woman* in this industry. Her talk will cover a range of issues women* and marginalised groups have to overcome in the tech sector, including limited access to the digital sphere, limited career advancement opportunities, and the lack of representation in leadership roles.
The talk will last approximately 30 minutes and will be followed by a possible Q&A. Afterwards, a multi-stakeholder dialogue will be held which will bring together key stakeholders from Mauritania’s technology sector, civil society organisations, policy makers as well as experts with a specific focus on gender equality and equity in the tech sector.
The aim of the interview and the dialogue is to examine further the different dimensions of structural discrimination women* face in society as well as in the tech sector in Mauritania and to achieve a shared understanding of those challenges. At the end of our event we have planned a networking session with snacks and drinks, where you can meet other like-minded individuals and exchange ideas.
Whether you are a student, entrepreneur, or working professional, this event is a great opportunity to gain insight into the experiences of women* in the tech industry, learn from a successful entrepreneur, and expand your professional network. Don’t miss this chance to be inspired and empowered.
A live-stream of this interview will be available.
