Kick-Off for the Circle of Friends
Expert roundtable
Thursday, 7 November 2024 | 3.00 – 5.00 pm (CET)
Online
After about nine months since the Digital Services Act (DSA) has been enforced, we kick off the DSA Research Network’s Circle of Friends and take stock of the DSA-related areas in need of further academic research. As a key element of the project, the Circle of Friends serves as a sounding board for the research conducted within the project as well as for the further direction of the project. Together with experts from NGOs, regulatory bodies, and academia, we discuss emerging topics around the DSA, identify needs for scientific insight and explore different methods to fill those gaps. Embedded in a flexible and adaptive operational framework that accounts for the dynamics of the field, the expert roundtable provides valuable input for shaping the project’s research focus for 2025 and allows to take into account recent developments such as the recently published draft delegated act on access to online platform data for vetted researchers under the Digital Services Act (DSA).
About the DSA Research Network
The DSA Research Network aims to establish a unique space for communication and collaboration around the implementation of the Digital Services Act, with a strong focus on making recommendations for possible areas for reform early on. Following a network-based approach, the project sets out to add value to already existing initiatives that have been formed to accompany the process of implementation. By providing a platform for cross-sectoral dialogue between academics, practitioners, NGOs, and regulators, we facilitate the creation of actionable knowledge and foster a culture of collaboration.
