Manon Oostveen

Manon Oostveen is a PhD candidate at the Institute for Information Law, University of Amsterdam. Her research is on the protection of the private life of individuals in the context of big data, focusing on fundamental rights protection and European data protection regulation. Her research interests include privacy, data protection, freedom of expression and copyright law.

Manon graduated with a Research Master in Information Law (University of Amsterdam) and an LL.M. in Information Technology and Intellectual Property Law (Leibniz Universität Hannover, magna cum laude). Prior to her masters she studied at Utrecht University and Uppsala University. She also completed internships in both the commercial as well as the legal sectors, was president of a student’s association and cofounded the Amsterdam Students’ Association for Information Law.
